Stay informed

There are literally thousands of websites, blogs, podcasts and news articles that offer useful information for climate activism. I intend to avoid resources that are sponsored by the fossil fuel industries. If you see something that is an industry resource, or if you have a good resource to add, please let me know through the comments section below.

Individual Websites

These sites are highly respected sources of information and, in some cases, action. They are likely to be mentioned in many of the lists of climate action websites.

Yale Climate Connections

is a nonpartisan, multimedia service providing daily broadcast radio programming and original web-based reporting, commentary, and analysis on the issue of climate change. Since 2007, Yale Climate Connections has aimed to help citizens, corporations, media, non-governmental organizations, government agencies, academics, artists, and more learn from each other about constructive “solutions” to reduce climate-related risks and wasteful energy practices.

Climate Reality Project

MISSION: Former US Vice President Al Gore founded The Climate Reality Project to catalyze a global solution to the climate crisis by making urgent action a necessity across every sector of society. The Project recruits, trains, and mobilizes people of all walks of life to work for just climate solutions that speed energy transition worldwide and open the door to a better tomorrow for us all.

VISION: Climate Reality is a diverse group of passionate individuals – advocates, cultural leaders, organizers, scientists, and storytellers from around the world, committed to building a sustainable future together. They share a vision for a swift, systemic, and just transition toward net zero emissions by the middle of this century, with major steps toward that goal by 2030. “We know, this fight is not ours alone –and must encompass fusion politics across race, class, and gender. We invite you to join us in this fight, as we continue this global journey to find solutions to the climate crisis that exemplify and advance real diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice.”

UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change)

With near universal membership (199 Parties), its Secretariat is tasked with supporting the global response to the threat of climate change. The ultimate objective of all three agreements under the UNFCCC (i.e. the Convention, 2015 Paris Agreement, and 1997 Kyoto Protocol) is to stabilize greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere at a level that will prevent dangerous human interference with the climate system, in a time frame which allows ecosystems to adapt naturally and enables sustainable development.
