My passions are writing, journalistic research, planning, advocacy, mentoring and doing what needs to be done to make this a better world. I’ve worked with teams in many nonprofits.
I am also a memoirist. In 2013, I published my first book, Unearthing the Ghosts: A Mystery Memoir, a story of coming-of-age trauma and how I overcame it.
My second memoir was released in early 2024. Titled Rear-View Reflections on Radical Change: A Green Grandma’s Memoir and Call for Climate Action, it is a collection of stories, essays, poems and journal entries that were written over a period of 50 years, since the very first “Earth Day.”
This book covers many issues – social, political, and personal – but at heart, it is a plea that we come together in constructive action to address climate change.
At this stage of my life, my primary concern is to meet the challenge that climate change presents to my children, grandchildren, and the future of life on planet Earth. This website is one way I hope to contribute to this goal – by offering a digest of news, solutions, and useful tips.
Secondarily, I believe that the existential threat of climate change destruction may be pushing many people toward despair and suicidal ideation. This trend expresses itself in numerous ways: gun violence, opioid addiction, mental illness, and support for authoritarian regimes. Therefore, I include information and resources on this website about each of those trends and ways to prevent them.
